This year has been full of fun and educational experiences for all our babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Despite COVID-19, 2022 has been an amazing year; a busy and beautiful journey covering so many milestones, events and festivals that are an integral part of our Grow family and all our children.
Our School Readiness Program introduced our preschoolers to a literacy and numeracy program to develop their early literacy skills and exposed them to a variety of learning experiences that encourages self-help, independence, turn taking, cooperative and associative social processes, expressive and descriptive language, memory, visual discrimination and matching skills. The aim of all these skills were to prepare our 4-5 year old’s for big school.
Throughout the year, our families and children were encouraged to participate in a range of special days and multicultural events, such as Australia Day, Chinese New Year, Holi, Easter Hat Parade, Mother’s Day, Grandparents Day, NAIDOC Week, Father’s Day, Diwali, Halloween Week, Graduation Day, and our End-of-Year Christmas Concert.
We also provided a variety of educational, hands-on experiences and incursions to enhance the children’s knowledge on natural habitats and sustainability, as well as occupations in the community. The butterfly and quail program were fantastic, where the children learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and of the quail, and learnt how to be gentle and care for them.
The Beyond the Beanstalk 10-week Program was absolutely amazing, covering an extensive range of topics such as Aquaponics, Hydroponics, Inside the Beanstalk, Insectarium, Jurassic Deep, Mission to Planet Sporange, Floating Menace and much more. These extended our children’s knowledge of the concepts of sustainable practices, self-sufficiency, nutrition, living fossils, responsibility for living creatures and life cycles.
2022 has left us with so many unforgettable memories that will stay in or hearts forever:
