National Reconciliation Week: 27 May to 3 June 2022
During National Reconciliation Week, our children were exposed to a variety of inclusive and enriching learning experiences to further develop the children’s understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
This week was all about exploring Aboriginal culture, and learning about ways of belonging, being and becoming. These enriching environments are also embedded in our everyday practices to challenge the children’s ability to nurture cultural diversity.
Living Safely with Dogs Program: 10 June 2022
The Living Safely with Dogs Program was presented at our preschool on 10/06/22. This program teaches children how to live safely with dogs.
We learnt about when dogs should be left alone, things that we should not do to dogs, and how to tell if a dog is happy, scared or angry. In addition, the children were taught how to safely approach a dog, what to do when approached by an unknown or aggressive dog, and basic dog behaviour.
After this important lesson, we all met and got to pat Fame, the beautiful and well-behaved Maltese.
